Unveiling of a fresco depicting Juan de Oņate's entry into New Mexico in 1598. Cutting the ceremonial ribbon are (left to right) Thomas A. Livesay, Director of the Museum of New Mexico; Spanish Vice President Francisco Alvarez-Cascos; and Manuel Gullón de Oņate of Spain, a descendant of the Spanish explorer. The fresco, located in the courtyard of the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, was created by Frederico Vigil, a Santa Fe artist.
