Get up close with ultra-high resolution images

Frederico Vigil’s Mundos de Mestizaje can now be viewed in never-before-seen high definition thanks to Gigapixel technology, a powerful photo-capturing process which has enabled images of this work to be seen in the highest resolution ever. Viewers can explore it in extraordinary detail and experience it far beyond what is visible to the naked eye, as a monumental fresco that depicts thousands of years of Hispanic history and highlights diverse cultural connections between people and places from the Iberian Peninsula to the Americas.

Digital exhibits

Special interactive virtual exhibits, curated by experts at the NHCC Art Museum, have been developed for online visitors. The digital exhibitions include several pieces chosen from the NHCC Art Museum’s permanent collection, ¡Aquí Estamos: The Heart of Arte!, in addition to multiple works by Patrocinio Barela (born 1900 Bisbee, Arizona; died 1964 Taos, New Mexico), an acclaimed artist who carved his organic, unpainted sculptures from local wood.

Some of the most important works in the online exhibition are:
