Looking Back: Interactions
Museum of Fine Arts 85th Anniversary Exhibition

For the Past 85 years, the Museum of Fine Arts has served as a cultural meeting ground that promoted aesthetic interactions between individuals, and between the cultures of New Mexico. This exhibition honors the dedication of the Museum in 1917 and its continuing promotion of cultural and artistic interactions.

Looking Back draws heavily upon the Museum's permanent collection. The exhibition is organized into groups based on artistic, cultural, spiritual, and technological interactions. By contrasting early and contemporary works of art, the Museum trusts that viewers will see how attitudes about art making in New Mexico have evolved during the last century.
