Linda Connor (American, 1944- )
Linda Connor received her B.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she studied photography with Harry Callahan. She later studied with Aaron Siskind in the M.F.A. program at the Institute of Design, Chicago. Connor, a native of New York City, has found her lasting voice in her photographs of sacred sites around the globe. Using an 8-by-10 view camera and printing-out paper, she has recorded rock art, temples, sacred caves, cathedrals, Buddhist sculptures, the Pyramids, and the inhabitants in these environments. She also makes prints from glass-plate negatives of astronomical events recorded at the Lick Observatory. Connor teaches at the San Francisco Art Institute.
