Jim Stone (American, 1947- )

Click to enlarge After graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in architecture, Jim Stone completed a Master of Fine Arts degree in photography at the Rhode Island School of Design. He works within several traditions from the documentary to postmodern discourse. As an artist, Stone approaches the medium with ideas from the spectrum of the history of photography. His work extends and challenges traditions, which are entering into the new potentials of digital print technologies. He is currently is Associate Professor in the internationally renowned photography program in the Art & Art History Department at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.
