MOIFA Presents Música Buena: Canciones de Amor (Songs of Love) a Virtual Valentines Day Concert with State Historian Rob Martinez
February 4th, 2021
Wanting to add some music to your Valentine’s Day this year? Then join the Museum of International Folk Art (MOIFA) and State Historian Rob Martinez at 7 p.m. MST on Sunday, Feb. 14, for a special virtual Valentine’s Day concert. Martinez will perform the rich musical traditions of New Mexico to present romantic music.
A collection of musical genres, from New Mexican to American, will be explored through voice and guitar. Traditional music forms, such as Inditas, will reflect the coming together and coexistence of Native and Spanish peoples and demonstrate the deep and universal themes of love lost and found, romance, and hope.
This free concert is in conjunction with the exhibition “Música Buena: Hispano Folk Music of New Mexico,” funded by the International Folk Art Foundation.
