Vadim Guschin (Russian, 1963- )
Vadim Guschin, who was born in Novosibirsk, Russia, and graduated from the Moscow Energy Institute in 1986, is a self-taught artist. He has been regarded as a free-lance photographer since 1986, a role highly subject to ideological pressures of the evolving political climate. With virtually no freedom of expression until after the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, Guschin was unable to exhibit or publish his work until that time. He had his first solo exhibition in 1995 and quickly developed into a significant artist. Guschin has consistently shown his work in Russia and Germany.
